Abstract Aims. As part of the JAEL project, a web-based training program was developed and scientifically evaluated. The program focuses on risk and protective factors influencing successful developmental trajectories of children and adolescents in out-of-home care settings. The training covers topics such as trauma sensitivity, continuity of care, and the management of mental health challenges in daily practise. A key objective of the program is to enhance the long-term effectiveness of residential social-pedagogical interventions by providing knowledge and skills that empower professionals to improve the quality of care and outcomes for children and adolescents in out-of-home settings.
Methods. The online course has been tested across several cohorts in three languages: German, French, and Italian (in Germany and Switzerland).
