Abstract Objectives of the audit:
To review the procedure of monitoring the use of antipsychotic treatment (Risperidone) for patients in CAMHS MHID services and Prolactin levels monitoring, compared to the requirements of The Maudsley and NICE Guidelines with internal protocol
Methodology:
Psychiatry trainee collected data from the files of patients on Risperidone. Data collection tool was developed in accordance to Maudsley and NICE guidelines .
The first cycle was carried out in CAMHS MHID outpatient department in July 2024. 17 Charts were reviewed.
Afterword, excel spreadsheet was created with names of the patients prescribed on Risperidone. We have also created the blood test monitoring sheet, personalized for MHID Services.
The second cycle was in in November 2024. Charts of 16 patients undergoing treatment with Risperidone. The copies of the audit findings was circulated to Cork-Kerry CAMHS teams.

Results:
Prolactin level were monitored in 10 patients (58.82 %). 7 patients (41.18 %) had prolactin levels taken outside recommended follow up.
Re-audit has shown 100 % compliance.
Conclusion and recommendations:
Excel spreadsheet with names of the patients was created with aim to create database of patients prescribed on Risperidone including the blood test monitoring sheet, personalized for MHID Services that included columns for documentation of the date of last blood test, Prolactin levels, PEG-Prolactin, and comment section.Post analysis, we have circulated the copies of the audit findings Cork-Kerry CAMHS teams.
There has been 100 % improvement in compliance with guidelines. Further audits and educational intervention for NCHDs in the form of teaching sessions
